Celebrating Success - Poplar Partnership, (Tower Hamlets, London).
At the end of the autumn term 2007 six voluntary groups working with families and the community in the Poplar area (3 of them EPPa teams from Manorfield, Langdon Park and Bygrove schools), got together to celebrate, share ideas and formally acknowledge the valuable work being done to engage families and the local community with fun learning activities that help to meet some of the ECM goals. - click here for more |

Highfield Community Association
Highfield Community Association was founded expressly in order to act as the EPPa group attached to Highfield School in Efford, Plymouth. The locality is acknowledged to be in an area of ‘high deprivation’. After consulting locally the EPPa Action Team decided to help meet local need for a ‘halfway house’ between the school and the local community and in 1998 the Highfield Community Association was formed with the main task of developing and refurbishing the community rooms. By 2003 the Highfield Action Team had raised in excess of £20,000, completed a community learning computer suite with 10 desktops computers and provided a facility with kitchen, large multi-use space and cloakrooms suitable for use by everyone. - click here for more |

Essex School Improvement Team leads the way on parental involvement. 51 schools (including 9 secondary) in Essex have now undertaken EPPa training and show how they are successfully meeting the ECM agenda through consultation and parent leadership. Mosaic Education is offering local authority children’s service staff an EPPa Mentor Training programme. This training will enable appropriately trained local authority staff to cascade support down to local level for EPPa schools working on the parent and community involvement elements of the Every Child Matters and Extended Schools agendas. .
